Hull Jazz FestivalJ-Night is the leading promoter in East Yorkshire of high quality world jazz. J-Night works with major venues to present a series of gigs across the region of York, East Riding, Hull and beyond.

 

International artists of the calibre of Billy Cobham, Courtney Pine, Jessica Williams, the Mingus Big Band and Stacey Kent are presented in atmospheric venues such as York Theatre Royal, Ropewalk, Pave Hull, Barton upon Humber and the Hull Truck Theatre and Marina Boatshed.

 

J-Night also programmes the Hull International Jazz Festival (July 28 to August 3 2008) now in its 18th year and headlining this year were Pee Wee Ellis, Abram Wilson, Django a la Creole, Rango, Alan Barnes, Seven Pieces of Silver, Jim Mullen, Asere plus many more. J-Night has joined with Pave Cafe Bar to present GIANT STEPS an outreach programme to develop opportunities for the region's jazz musicians to explore the classics of jazz in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.
